Residential buildings account for 17% of the region’s greenhouse gas emissions. Of this, 70% is attributed to gas use, making home electrification a critical strategy for meeting our climate goals. Electrification also improves indoor air quality and reduces energy costs.
At our May Go Green Illinois meeting, we learned more about building electrification — including how to begin and what you can do to help move your community forward with electrification. If you missed it, the video link will be on the homepage soon (if it’s not there already).
