Chicago Furniture Bank, founded in 2018, is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that provides essential furniture to individual families in need throughout Chicagoland. The organization’s work reduces the amount of usable furniture sent to landfills while addressing the socioeconomic impact of furniture poverty.
Since its founding, CFB has served over 25,000 families, over 62,000 Chicagoans, distributing over 350,000 pieces of furniture and diverting 24 million pounds of furniture from landfills.
Donations of used furniture, housewares, artwork, mirrors, and small appliances are provided at no cost to clients. Together with their social enterprise, Honest Junk Company, they work tirelessly to repurpose every item that is donated.
