The IECC is the nation’s model building energy code and is revised every three years. Online voting by ICC Governmental Member Voting Representatives is the culmination of years of work by numerous stakeholders and determines the content of the next version of the IECC. A voting guide, prepared by the Energy Efficient Codes Coalition, makes recommendations that, if passed, will put us on a glide path to Net Zero by 2050.

Only those who have registered may vote. The municipalities in Illinois that have registered to vote are: Addison, Aurora, Barrington, Beach Park, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Champaign, Chicago Ridge, East Alton, Elgin, Elk Grove, Elmhurst, Evanston, Flossmoor, Geneseo, Geneva, Glen Carbon, Glen Ellyn, Greenville,  Hazel Crest, Highland Park, Hoffman Estates, Lake Bluff, Lake in the Hills, Lansing, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, Lombard, Marquette Heights, Moline, Monticello, Mount Vernon, Naperville, New Lenox, O’Fallon, Oak Brook, Oak Forest, Oak Park, Palatine, Park Ridge, Peoria, Plano, River Forest, Schaumburg, Skokie, South Holland, Springfield, Streamwood, Swandea, Vernon Hills, Warrenville, Wilmette.
